They reduce the internal temperature by absorbing heat inside the cabinet through the vaporization of liquid refrigerant. Their structural design and installation methods affect the cooling efficiency, temperature uniformity, fresh-keeping performance and energy consumption of display cabinets, and different types of evaporators are suitable for different application scenarios of display cabinets.
Evaporators for Direct-Cooling Display Cabinets
The evaporators of direct-cooling display cabinets are in direct contact with internal cabinet air and achieve cooling via natural convection circulation. Without fans, the operating noise can be kept below 38 decibels, which is similar to the ambient sound level in a library. Such display cabinets can save 20% to 30% electricity compared with traditional air-cooled models, and the internal temperature difference can be controlled within ±1℃, making them well-suited for displaying temperature-sensitive products such as chocolates and dairy products. Some models are equipped with microchannel evaporators and automatic defrosting technology. The automatic defrosting program will be activated once the frost thickness reaches 3 mm, lowering the workload of manual maintenance.
Fin-Type Evaporators for Air-Cooled Display Cabinets
Fin-type evaporators are widely applied in commercial display cabinets. Most of them adopt a structure combining aluminum alloy fins and pure copper tubes. The fins expand the contact area between the evaporator and air, and pure copper tubes have better thermal conductivity than aluminum tubes, which accelerates the heat exchange of refrigerant and cuts down energy loss, thus improving the energy efficiency ratio of the whole equipment. This structure enables forced circulation of evenly distributed cold air and effectively prevents frost formation on the surface of food materials. It is commonly used in beverage display cabinets, cake refrigerated display cabinets, commercial convenience store freezers and other equipment. It can extend the fresh-keeping period of food by 2 to 3 days and keep goods fresh.
Roll-Bond Evaporators
Roll-bond evaporators are mostly used in household and commercial display cabinets. They deliver favorable heat exchange performance and fast cooling speed, which can bring the cabinet temperature down to the preset range in a short time. They meet the energy efficiency requirements of Level 1 energy efficiency standards, satisfying daily refrigeration demands for household use and convenience stores.
Concealed Interlayer Evaporators Concealed interlayer evaporators are installed inside cabinet interlayers. The fan system delivers evenly diffused cold air to the display area. The internal temperature difference can be controlled within 2℃, and over 15% extra internal display space can be reserved. They are ideal for long-term constant-temperature display of sashimi, high-grade fruits and similar products. In addition, they mitigate fogging on cabinet glass and improve the visual display effect of goods.
